Segment 1: The Good News-Where is it?

Look around. The world is a mess! Wall Street meltdown caused by corporate greed, arrogance and an amazing disdain for the law, threats of terrorist attacks, senseless murders, kidnappings, global warming, layoffs—you name it. Optimism is hard to come by.

But wait. There's hope. In the middle of all this MUCK there are people doing good! There are moments that elevate the human spirit. They just get crowded out by the more dramatic events of the day. There's the cancer patient who spends his last days on earth as a clown because he wants to leave with people laughing. the corporate executive who mentors a kid from the ghetto, the Hollywood producer who volunteers as a counselor at a camp for at-risk- kids and so much more.

That's the purpose of this segment—to CELEBRATE THE HUMAN SPIRIT —to focus on what is RIGHT with the world. I'll be bringing you these stories. We deserve 90 seconds that make us smile, nod, and yes even chuckle We all need the good news. This is Eileen McDargh for WRMN 1410 inviting you to celebrate the human spirit.
